Kurt and Erika met me at the head of the trail to Picnic Point, and no sooner than we started walking together were we talking about ice cream. These two are the ones responsible for making me obsessed with Ben & Jerry’s. Now, if you’ve followed me for a while, you might remember that it’s been a long time since I gave up dairy milk, and I had resigned myself to the bland, freezer-burnt flavor of coconut milk ice cream stand-ins. You know, the little cartons of lies and disappointments. Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia almond milk creation is the opposite of that. It’s like packaged happiness and restored dreams found in the freezer section.
This is not an ad, by the way. I’m just obsessed, thanks to these two. So if you become obsessed now, too, you know who to blame.
Aside from their fantastic taste in ice cream, Kurt and Erika are one of the most genuine couples I have ever met. Their love for each other is so easy to see— it sounds so cliche, but every look, smile, touch, and embrace between them truly is a quiet “I love you.”
They’re also absolute goofballs. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed for a larger majority of a session than I did with these two. Example: at one point, I asked Kurt to soften his smile just a bit, looking for a more serious, protective expression. His response? “My soft smile makes me look like a serial killer.”
Which was NOT true, but we made Erika laugh pretty hard.
I looovvvveeee engagement sessions for so many reasons, but one of the top ones is how I get to spend time with couples (without any wedding distractions) and really get to know them. Because they’re pretty great.
